is summer here???

Wow after a balmy week with temperatures well into late 70s here in sunny Mansfield, i did have to ask myself “is summer here?”. Today is more like May, with clouds and a little promise on sun peeking through from time to time, but before you tell me to write this on a weather forum id have better digress………
Clematis(nelly moser) is in full bloom now and trying to protect it from the full sun has been a challenge to say the least.
All tulips have given me a display to be proud of, and well worth the effort in planting them last autumn, being a lazy gardener, i am going to leave them in…..results same time next year anybody??
My woodland anenomes have really come on well despite them getting more sun than i had hoped for, which hasnt done them any harm, bluebells are establishing well too and hope that next year they will be thriving.
I inherited some free Hostas from Mother, and they are doing well and my Monarda is cautiously peeking around the garden in the 10 different places i have planted the 10 different species…..
Thanks once again to all those who take the time to reply and sens such encouraging emails too, i do try and reply but sometimes i cannot think of anything constructive to say, so apologies.
Hope to blog before i travel to Sunny NEC and this years GW live.

My Nellie Moser opened her first flower today - but she is in the shade. It sounds as though you have a lot going on in your garden! Why not leave your tulips in? As long as you leave the leaves alone (ha ha) they should flower again next year.

I leave my tulips in - so far they've got better each year - I now get about 3-4 flowers per original bulb I planted :-)

Are your wood anemonies the wild ones? If so could you tell me where you got them. I can't seem to get them anywhere. There were lots in the hedgerows this year but I don't want to dig them up. When I've gone to look for the seed heads I can't find them.
