Orchid transformation

I feel like a proud Mum showing off!! Back in May I asked what to do with my redundant looking Orchid and wondered whether I’d ever get another bloom out of it! First picture is the orchid back in May and the last two are what it looks now!

Needless to say I got more than a few flowers! It lights up my kitchen windowsill on a grey winters morning. Result!!

I have one that looks very heathy, had it for years without it ever producing any blooms apart from the first that were on it when purchased, haven't the heart to throw it out I'm living in hope that it will one day reward me, yours is lovely....

I must admit I have in the past been successful in making them come back again. But this one got me bit worried hence the post in May. My secret is soaking the orchid once a week in tepid boiled water with a little orchid feed mixed in and put it in a sunny spot without any drafts. I've got another orchid in the wings which will hopefully bloom once this one is finished and one which is dying back right now.

I will try this tactic and see if it works.

Another tip is to have the orchid in clear plastic pot which can then be put in a decorative pot. However, if your plant has finished flowering and you've cut the spent flower stems back then take plant out of outer pot and allow light to get to the roots. This way there is more chance it will regrow new flower stems! It works for me anyway.
