Dierama ‘Pink Rocket’

I see from this that it was definitely worth waiting for. Will it get big eventually? So pretty.

Such pretty plants...I've seen them growing in a collection and they looked very elegant. Tried many years ago,but failed.

I thought I’d failed last year and nearly pulled it out! Will become a bigger clump every year. A lady down the road has a large one and it’s a real statement plant.

My word, it does look exotic planted like that! you must be thrilled with it. If you don't dead head it you get red berries later. What kind of soil is it in?

I didn't know they were tricky to grow - nobody must have told it, because mine has slowly grown into a terrific clump and flowers like a dream. It was not fussy at all.Seems I have been unusually lucky then! It would be interesting to know what the difference in conditions is because all I did was plant it and once a year cut off the flowered stems when the berries have faded or fallen..(Humour me because I can't usually say anything like that...) I have it by the edge of the pond so it really does look like fishing rods.
It is in neutral to very slightly acid soil, and this tends to be on the heavy side rather than sandy.The soil isn't moist as its well above water level and is dry.

Eileen that's so disappointing. Do you think it might be a bit cold for them up where you are?

Steragram. I have to be honest and haven’t got a clue what type of soil its in! I have added loads of grit but that’s all I can tell you. Could you post a photo of your big clump? Then I know what I can aspire to.

Friends grow them about 10 miles away so it shouldn't be really. Perhaps the ground is too dry.

I'll have a go with a photo but as I haven't got a smartphone I have to do them the old fashioned way and am going a bit stupid s I get old
