End of March in My Garden

Although our garden is pretty empty because we’ve only been here a year and the previous owners decided to pave and stone it all, the few plants I’ve introduced are slowly coming to life and the sun is shining :) Here’s a few pics from this week:

Acer Palmatum ‘Inaba-shidare’ coming to life again

Aqueligias I’m growing. Petticoat Pink and McKana

Benji and a stick he found on one of our walks!

My Cordyline ‘Sundance’ survived the winter in my little greenhouse. The daffs were dug up out of the border!

Despite having a rotten cold over the weekend, I managed to paint the fence panels at the end of the garden. Four of them looked like they had never been painted so hopefully they’ll enjoy the protection it gives them :)

My mini greenhouses full of seeds, there’s spring onions, mint, cosmos, marigolds, anagalis, lobelia, tomatoes, strawberries, aqueligias, pansies and petunias in there. The four pots at the front left are bareroot plants I bought from The Range. There’s 2 Astilbes and 2 Dicentra. Only one of the Astilbes is showing any signs of life though…

My Heucheras, I love these plants! They’ve had a trim this morning to get rid of the old foliage

New plants bought from a local garden centre that had 20% off everything all weekend. There’s 2 english ivies to train onto the fence on the shaded side, 2 Geum ‘Mrs J. Bradshaw’, Geum x borsii and a Bergenia ‘Winterglut’. I also got a free French Lavender with a voucher :)

My shady border, it looks much better now I’ve got the ornaments out. Say hello to Froggy!

Table and chairs, waiting to be painted this afternoon, naughty hubby decided to use the table as a saw bench!

Various pots waiting to come to life soon

Thanks for looking, enjoy the sunshine!

Well its all coming along very nicely, and there is definitely plenty of new plants for you to fill up any borders. You`ve done a great job on painting the fence and the table and chairs will look good when they get their new coat.

Thank you for your kind comments, it's a work in progress as you can see. We hope to move the shed soon which will give us lots more scope for sun-loving plants as the shed currently sits in the sunniest part of the garden!

Chris, what a shame about your greenhouse! I've made sure the covers are well tied onto the frame and there's heavy pots and bricks in the bottom to hold everything down!

Stroller, thank you, I'm pleased I got the fence done. I've given the table and chairs two coats of paint and will post a pic when they're dry :)
