Pink Asters (Aster)

Ah, lovely bunches of them!

Mine aren't going to make it. Might pull up and bring in to enjoy. Not sure the michaelmas will winter in the house very well. But I'll ne'er see a flower leaving them ouside with my short season.

I have pink ones there not quite out yet.......

What a shame, Greenthumb - how much daylight are you getting now??

Holly, yes, I have some more that are in bud, too.

Quite like these asters, give some colour at this time of year dont they.

Yes, they definitely do! I like them in various colours around the garden. There's still a very bright magenta one left to flower.

I tried to get the magenta one but couldn,t find any, amazing colour on them.
I looked at michalmas and thought , they look like asters..lol

Mine aren't out yet :( poor butterflies,it's a good job they've got the sedum and the buddlea is still performing :)

I haven't seen any butterflies on mine?? They are elsewhere in the garden, though.

Just 11 hours spritz. We've had a delightful extended fall, but we're losing 5 degrees a day now and forecast for white precipitation monday. AHHHH! It was 70F last week. Only one michaelmas flower opened, I;m going to haul it in. :-)

Oh dear - the 's' word already? We are on 12/12 exactly, now, as it's the Equinox tomorrow. I reckon you're wise to rescue the plant and enjoy it indoors!

That is what I'm thinking. This is our normal time of year for the cold, but it is never welcome to my garden, out trying to finish the season in the chill. :-) I've pulled alot of things in already.

Have you got a conservatory-type of place to grow plants??

20 Sep, 2009

LOL.....The house. :-) I do dream of that spritz but until I own, I just bring them in. This year I'm arranging a long bed upstairs on the catwalk, just a few stepping stones for me. Should fit lots of things. I place them down on the cold cabin floor midwinter to chill for winter treatments if they need them.

Do you manage to over-winter most plants, or do you have casualties??

20 Sep, 2009

Most do come over alright. Herbs are the most difficult. There always a few casualties each winter and each summer. Usually watering, from when I get in a slump. :-)

Oooops!!
