Yum....plum cake. Love the blossoms. Spring is really coming along. I noticed the trees around here are coming into bud :)

I just love the sight of blossom on the trees, especially the golden yellow Forsythia which is just about everywhere round our way. : o ))

I agree Shirley . . . blossom is definitely one of my favourite things. Which plum is this lovely tree - is it a Victoria?

21 Mar, 2011

Erm ... it's in the garden behind ours and we were allowed to have as many as we liked last year! Lovely and sweet fruit ...could be Victoria ... shall ask owner if I see her. : o ))

Oh yes, I remember those plums now! Mine has just started to swell it's buds, but it's still very small, maybe no fruit this year, but you never know! I LOVE plums! Raspberries and Plums are my favourites!

Mmm, Karen, plum crumble was a childhood favourite, and still is! Good to know your tree didn't succumb to Winter. : o ))

No, it's fine Shirley. I really prefer my plums raw though...not keen on plum jam for example. Give me a sun-kissed juicy plum straight of the tree and I'm happy!

what a lovely tree

Now I'm salivating, Karen lol!

It's a stunner, isn't it, Jackie? I don't think it's been pruned for the last two years, seems to be thriving on neglect! : o )

I remember Shirley's Plum Cake I made it myself a few times and it was delicous! lovely blossom too;0)

I keep looking at this Shirley - and smile every time. At the moment, it's better than looking out of the window!!

Ah yes, Pp, the infamous Plum cake : o )) .........

Sheila, do you have poor weather today? We started off with lovely sunshine, now it's a bit cloudy. : o ((

22 Mar, 2011

A tiny glimpse of sun, Shirley, but mostly cloudy . . quite mild though so I did get two games of croquet!

22 Mar, 2011

Well, that's good. Did you win one or both games? : o ))

22 Mar, 2011

Won one, lost one - but great fun and it's good when it's close!

22 Mar, 2011

Well done! Hope the sun shines for you tomorrow. : o )

Thanks Shirley . . . I'm a happy bunny anyway, as we'll be meeting younger son at Heathrow on Thursday - back from Toronto after his big adventure! :))

22 Mar, 2011

Ooh, lots of tales to listen to and photos to view I should expect. : o ))

Oh Sheila....our son moved to St. Catharine's (outskirts of Toronto) 18 months ago...how I'd love to be meeting a flight from Toronto with him on board.

Enjoy your reunion with your son and all he will excitedly share with you. :)

Thanks Whiston! Oh dear - it's hard when they move away, isn't it. This son has always fancied living in Canada, but I'm hoping he'll stay in Cornwall (which he also loves) quite a bit longer. Older son lives in Oz!

23 Mar, 2011

It is hard when they relocate...and Oz for your older son is even further than Canada!

Thankfully we keep connected on the web and chat most days...but it still falls short of face to face, and hugs :)

I hope your son decides Cornwall is still looking good...if he does choose Canada, it is a good option...beautiful country (although I am from the west coast and would prefer that to Ontario...our son told me today, they've wakened to snow).

23 Mar, 2011

Yes, Steve mentioned the snow too Whiston . . . yet the other day he was buying suncream!! I've only been to the west (Vancouver and Vancouver Island, beautiful, I think we've mentioned this before), but have to admit I had no idea Toronto was an attractive city on a lake.

23 Mar, 2011

Yes, I believe Toronto is a very attractive city...and as you say sits on a beautiful lake. I have a friend who lived there for a few years and then went back to Vancouver. It was a different lifestyle with the cold winters and very hot summers.

You are right, Sheila...I am very sure we've discussed this before....lol Get me started in talking about B.C. and I'm like a race horse at the gate! :)
