That is a wonderful colour Ck and so soft looking as a rose.

Thanks Linda. I do love a good yellow rose. I have three in the golden border, this one (Charlotte) which has the warmest colour of the three, ‘Graham Thomas’ whoch I never tire of and it always performs well, and ‘The Poet’s Wife’ which grows like a climber. The stems are so long! I think I might pin the ends of them down with tent pegs and see if it will grow more flowers!

You could try to peg them out sideways on a wire and see if they produce flowers from along the stems, rather than just one from the tip, like the climbing roses.

Thats exactly what I’m going to do, but trying to copy Vita’s at Sissinghurst where she used to train them into an upturned basket shape using willow branches.
