Springtime in my road

The sun has arrived at last and my road is looking lovley with blossom and flowering roadside verges, thought I’d get the camera out & take some photos before any storms arrive & spoil it

None of these are on my property but are close enough for me to see & enjoy

My neighbour has a large magnolia which this year has been a joy. I’ve been here long enough to remember him planting a little twig years ago, since then his litle boys have grown up, moved & married & he has retired.

Across the road is a council maintained verge with wild violets & celandines growing, must be due a cut by now, these normally don’t stay long before the ride on council mower arrives so I enjoy while I can

Also on this verge is an ornamental cherry which this year has survived the wind and kept the blossom

Lovely Springtime blog, Grandad, the Violets are my favourite. Across in West Sussex, it's sunny with a stiff breeze, same for you?

Been out ourselves this morning to the Cotswolds. We, too, enjoyed the awakening magnolias and other spring flowers. You have some cheering plants to enjoy. Thanks for sharing.

Springtime is a lovely time of the year, I like to see the gardens coming alive with flowers, thankfully it seems everywhere you go more and more villages and townspeople are taking over the care of the greenspaces planting the verges with flowers, in our town a team of volunteers have taken over, thankfully the council workers are not getting a look in, the town had started to look very scruffy in places, in recent years they had begun to use contracters for the work, people who basically just made a mess, now the people doing the work actually care about the town...I hope the man on the ride about mower doesn't arrive yet G'g the purple and yellow looks very attractive....

I too love the violets and it's a shame they have to be cut down! Just on the roadside next to our garden is a Liquid Amber. I was going to buy one, but I get the beauty of this one, so will save my money!
