Clem Day

I’m so excited! I’ve been dithering for ages trying to choose which clematis to have – there is so much choice. Then you have to consider size, position, type & colour etc……
Well, I finally made the order & they arrived today – all 11 of them.
This is what I have:

C Broughton Bride

C Tangutika Helios

C Lemon Bells

C Propertius

C Westerplatte

C Wilsonii

C Piilu

C Jenny Keay

C Early Sensation

C Jingle Bells

C Proteus

They are all beautiful Mari! Lemon Bells and Piilu are my favourites out of these, but they are all lovely. Wilsonii, tangutica and Broughton Bride will need to go in the ground. But you knew that already I'm sure :) x

Fantastic..........what a selection! It's lovely, buying plants, isn't it? I hope to be doing similar myself, soon with a new garden to plant up!
I hope they bring you many years of pleasure! I love Clematis,of all kinds!

What a wonderful selection. It's nice you have somewhere to grow climbers :)

Thank you all for such lovely comments, I would have more if I had the places for them that's why it's so hard choosing.

Karen, I have the places for most of them in the ground but the ones that need more shelter like Jingle Bells & some smaller ones will go in pots. They all need to be grown on tho as yet so have time to make preparations.

Paul, a new garden is exciting especially the planning stage. Do you have an idea of what you want?

Hywel, I used trellis panels to make dividers plus I've got a wood store & sheds I want to pretty up & some gaps in the boundary fence too so thats where the most are destined.

Sam, have you seen C Lemon Dream. It looks like hanky's waving at you & has a delicious scent like grapefruit. It's on my wish list.

Oh Lemon Dream is lovely, that's definately one for the wish list - think I may have a place for it lol.

Think I may need to find some new spaces for clematis lol.

Sam, If you love clematis that is always the challenge, lol.

They are wonderful, I love clematis and although I do have some the only one that does any good is my evergreen winterflowering one that at the moment is climbing through my apple tree, I regret planting that one, lol....

All so very beautiful.

Yes, Hteenfinger, I have most of the plants that I want on a list and will use some that I brought with me from my last garden. I will be buying mainly ornamental grasses but I have already bought two small Clematis to grow up a wall and a fence and I will buy a couple large flowered varieties to grow up metal obelisks(yet to buy) amongst the grasses. One each side of the garden. I have seen the obelisks I want but didn't buy them.

Lincslass, which winter flowering one do you have, sounds like it survives the winters?

Paul, so you're a man with a plan. I wish I had one, I tend to be impulsive & find places to put things as I go. Not the best way, I know, as often things need moving.

Well, I try to be G F, but I do occasionally give in to impulse!

What lovely choices you've made. Piilu is my favourite although I still call it little Duckling! I am now looking out for a not too vigorous one for the front garden .

Gee, maybe something from the Boulevard collection from Raymond Evison would suit.
