The view from my brothers patio.

I was at my brothers watering the plants while they were on holiday I wanted to try and capture the view so I took these photo’s and decided to have a go at painting it. I used to live up here many years ago and still miss the view. This is why his home is called ‘Bella Vista’….
This is my attempt at painting it…..
I will have another go when I get a larger painting pad. I was quite pleased with the first attempt.

Thanks Melchi, it's looking towards Worksop. It's lovely at any time of year and to the Lt there is Whitwell wood.

I love it, brill. Hb. there is something about wheat growing in a field, so beautiful. Nice view to see daily!

Lovely. I, too, like the sky and the horizon in particular. Isn't it great to feel inspired?

Well done, not an easy subject to capture, and what a view, I would never get any work done if I had a view like that.

Thank you very much Drc, darker yellow would be better but there's always next time.....Gmage it's like watching waves on the sea in a wind before the wheat turns golden. Tbear thank you I don't know why I didn't think to do it before. I still miss the view even after all these years Moti.
I couldn't seem to get the tractor tracks right Sheila, I will get some direction from art class this week. Thankyou.
Scottish thank you it's a lovely place to sit and I never get tired of seeing the changes in seasons. It looked blindingly bright last year when they grew rape seed. I would sooner see the wheat though. Pity they never grow carrots or potatoes we could nip over and pick a few pound......lol

Thankyou Bloomer and Hywel. The road is called Sunnyside. It's where I was born and where we moved back to after Shelley was born. It's a very special area to me.

You could do a 'glaze ' to get the ripe corn effect Homebird. Perhaps your art group might help to choose the right shade if it is a watercolour. I once got water too pink in art class and the tutor showed me how to glaze over it to get the effect I wanted. What a wonderful outlook for your brother. Did you do your picture sitting in front of it or from a photo or drawing?

I did this one from photos I took Dorjac. I got some good advice yesterday and have changed it slightly and I like it much more now.

Wow - you've done a good job on the sky! What a lovely painting of a fabulous view. No wonder it's called "Bella Vista"! Where is it?
