There’s a lot of blue and mauve in my garden this autumn …

Michaelmas Daisy, but I don’t remember the variety – can’t find the label :-

Aster frikarti ‘Monk’ :-

Liriope muscari :-

Scabiosa columbaria :-

Fuchsia ’Delta’s Sarah’ :-

Tricyrtis hirta :-

I still have my bulbs to plant and some tender plants to put in shelter but they will be done when we get some dry weather.
I hope all your gardens are ready for their winter rest, it’s a time for winding down :)

Yes, I agree Hywel, lots of purples in the garden. Your Liriope is really floriferous as is mine. Unfortunately Tricyrtis don't do for me, I'll enjoy your pic instead.

Such lovely colours which must be making quite an impact in your garden. Michaelmas daisies are very pretty.
I agree that it is now a time for winding down but so many plants have lasted so well this year.
Raining again here and I can hear a neighbour persevering with his mowing!!!

Thank you both :)

Siris I keep the Tricyrtis in a tub, and it remains relatively harm free, as do my hostas .

It' has been showery here Chris and there is still lots of growth in the garden, autumn flowers doing well.
Mowing in the rain lol, it must be very mucky for your neighbour,

I Think your pics. are very clear and I like your "misties"; proper colour co-ordination! I've had tricyrtis reappear this Autumn after a 3 year absence! I couldn't work out what they were until they flowered. I'd forgotten I'd planted them.
Not much dry weather here lately but got lots put into the g'house for winter cover earlier in the week. Still more to do though. Better than a gym workout :(

lovely photos of some pretty flowers Hywel. The rain is stopping me getting out to sort plants too. I have wall flowers to pot up and pelargoniums to bring in from the cold.

I also seem to have lots of blue and lilac at the moment Hywel
Some smashing pretty flowers in your pictures.
The weather here has been quite chilly and wet, but thankfully not too cold yet.

Great to see so many mauve & blue flowers in your garden, Hywel! Unfortunately I don't have practically any flowers - for the moment at least - as I've pruned back quite drastically my Geraniums & Pelargoniums for their winter rest. The Begonias were already starting to die back so I've removed them as well. Just this afternoon I also did away with the tomato plants after picking any tomatoes left on the plants in the morning.

So the balcony is looking VERY BLEAK! :'(

Lots of lovely mauve and lilac hues, Hywel. The 3rd pic is so clear and detailed.

Lovely shades of colour. I wish I could get my Scabious to produce a flower like yours. It has always struggled,
called Clive Greaves, I don't think it likes my soil. :-(

Looks great hywell, every garden should have them, they give so much colour and seem to go on forever, I have magical drifts of Asters on the allotment, shades of blue/purple that sway gently in the autumn breeze, and waiting in the wings, I can see glimpses of brightly coloured stems from my orange and yellow willows accompanied with a family of cornus.

Lovely photo's, I don't have many mauves or blue at the moment, I only have the old fashioned blue michaelmas daisies, they were here before I was, never have added some different shades which is a bit silly as I love them, lol, I have more or less come to a full stop here , rained every day since I moved my abelia, I know we needed it but now its being silly, managed to mow the lawns, pop some bulbs in and a little bit of deadheading, all conducted between showers, gradually moving my succulents down to the greenhouse, if this rain keeps up like it did last year I'm hibernating, lol...

After looking at your pictures, my garden is ready for a make over. Big Time!

Lots of colour there Hywel! Everything looks great and I love the blue fuschia! What a lovely blue that is! My Muscari doesn't flower until the spring. Is this a different variety Hywel?
My garden is still in full flower and don't think I will be able to get any bulbs in yet either!

Thank you all for your comments, sorry I've been so long replying ... can't get around to it lol

It isn't the Muscari Grape Hyacinth that comes from bulbs Rose, it's called 'Liriope muscari' and is a hardy perennial that grows in clumps, a different plant altogether :)

Thanks Hywel, I will look out for that next year to see if I can buy it.

Lovely plants and colours there hywel, yep the garden is definitely starting to wind down and just waiting for the deluge of leaves to start falling and making the pathways like a skating rink, on the plus side my dahlia’s are still producing so will leave them a while longer
