It’s a lovely summer morning here in Carmarthenshire, I had my breakfast down the garden with Bella cat.
I’m going to do as much as I can in a minute before it gets too hot again :)
May have a siesta this afternoon lol
or try to do some art in the conservatory unless it will be too hot in there again :D
(probably will be !)

Enjoy the summer everyone :)

I hope you get to post some of your art pieces. They are very good and I enjoy seeing them. Esp like the ones you do with chalk.

well its 1.30 and I hope you got busy with your art Hywel. It is certainly very warm now. I have housework to do too.
Shame as I visited an amazing garden this morning.

It's been a super morning but hiding from the sun this afternoon, looking at all the plants that will need watering again this evening! I hope you have enjoyed your art work/siesta this afternoon, Hywel. Our cats are not sure where to put themselves to get out of the bright sunshine.

Hywel, I bet Bella enjoyed your company at breakfast time in the garden! Our Megan is constantly in the shade, or indoors in the cool. I hope you managed to do some art, but a siesta sounds a good plan too ... :o)

Sounds like a blissful morning for you and Bella, Hywel.
I hope you didn’t get too hot today and managed to enjoy some of your art! I may have been snoozing at the same time you were this afternoon! I lay down for an hour..think it’s still covid fatigue..after all the gardening etc in the past few days!
Happy gardening!!!!

Hi Hywel I was going to try and do some weeding but a little to warm but I did water the garden this morning, same to you 😊

Its been hot here too - spent the afternoon reading in the conservatory and yes it was far too hot but I was too lazy to move... now sitting at a west facing window and looking at how dirty it is -the prevailing winds fling bits at it as fast as it gets cleaned (which isn't very often in fact...)
I bought some nice new plants yesterday including a super blue and white Aquilegia (and a packet of seeds to get more next year...)
Looking forward to seeing what you produced today Hywel!

Finding some shade is the best thing to do and an afternoon siesta sounds just the thing too. Miles too hot for me, I'm waiting for it to cool down before I subject some new plants to the scorching sun.

Thank you all for reading my little blog, and for your comments, I just felt I wanted to say something to someone lol

It's been too hot to do anything much today so I did nothing :)
I didn't do any art, the conservatory was too hot. The garden was too hot as well :D

Bella has been hiding somewhere, I hardly saw her all day.

What garden did you visit Eileen ?

I hope you enjoyed your nap Kate :)

Good luck with the Aquilegias Sue ...

Thanks for everyone's comments :)

What a cheerful little blog Hywel. Made me smile.

It was very muggy here yesterday Hywel. The sun didn't come out until teatime.
If you got the hot weather, you did right to do nothing. Put your feet up, in the shade. You can garden when it's cooled down a bit :-)

Good day to you too, Hywel! It has been a very hot weekend & today is no exception! We grumbled about the cold months of April & May well now we can grumble about "Fiery June"! The thing is we are never happy with the weather but "We have to put up with the weather whether we like it or not"!

Another hot, humid day here in East Anglia! Seems that from Wednesday till Friday we can expect thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain! Most of us may see one or more thunderstorms this week! Here we are bang on centre for the Yellow Warning area!

14 Jun, 2021

It was the same here too,Hywel, but we can find some shade under an Umbrella, and from a tall Pieris ,which is in just the right position to sit next to ! lol..I did the minimum of' Pottering.',so the evening was just right to be able to check what needed 'tweaking' and watering,of course. :o) At the moment that is the nicest part of the day :o) Both Water Butts have been emptied twice this year,so any rain will be welcome on Wednesday, but hopefully, without the Thunderstorms :o(

I hope you all miss the thunderstorms. I enjoy a good thunderstorm lol :D

Me too

It was a garden in the Howardian Hills North Yorks, owned by members of our local HPS group, so not one that is well known and I don't even think it is in the yellow NGS book Hywel, but the views over the hills was very beautiful. I might have the odd photo, if so I will post later in the week.

it is still very hot here on Wednesday and I've been to a local nature reserve today too.

That's nice ...

hope you're keeping well Hywel. Yes certainly been so hot , some plants suffering . Also makes me tired . Look forward to your garden pictures

lol sorry pressed enter twice , and a blank reply came up afterwards

17 Jun, 2021

Gentle raindrops were falling here this morning and it is a little cooler.
So, it is time to tackle a large pile of ironing for me! Hope you have something nicer planned!

I was really looking forward to last night's "storm" but was disappointed. Today we just have light rain, but at least I don't need to water the garden again!

Luckily we did loads in the garden yesterday, preparing for a visit from a group of gardeners next Tuesday ... fingers crossed for a fine day then (but they'll enjoy the cake anyway :)).

The thunderstorms gave us a miss as well. I was looking forward to some 'natural' fireworks! The rain wouldn't come amiss either! 😂

With two weeks of high temps the ground in the church gardens is so hard I broke my trowel the other day trying to dig a big enough hole to plants Daffodil bulbs in! Now I will need to buy myself another! (I'd already broken a mop & a broom this week!)

17 Jun, 2021

Thank you all
We haven't had any rain here, the ground is very dry. Today has been beautiful, lots of summer sunshine and a warm breeze, and an almost cloudless sky.

Send your ironing over here Wildrose, I enjoy it, it's a very relaxing thing to do :)

Well that's three things Balcony, maybe you won't have any more breakages now :)
You're planting Daffodils already ? That's early ...

It must be nice having people to see your garden Sheila, I hope the weather is sunny for them :)

I'm fine Paul Thank you :) but feeling rather weary at times lol must be getting old :D Sorry you're tired but I find the heat does tend to take our energy away

"You're planting Daffodils already ? That's early ..."

Yes! But they are from our balcony! I needed to take them out now that the leaves had almost died back so I could put the summer planting in. As I can't keep spring bulbs alive to plant again in the autumn I take them over to the church & plant them in the gardens. I've done it for several years now.

Other people can enjoy the flowers in the spring & they should live for many years.

I buy most of my bulbs in £land or Wilkos. They are very cheap & I get flowering size bulbs every year.

Ah, I see :)

IT's very hot and steamy here in NY. I shaved my head today. It helps a little but I need to hold my head under a cold shower several times a day just to cool off. Would loved a good torrential rain.

19 Jun, 2021

I should think your head would be hotter bald :( and you can get sunburnt too.
It's a hot afternoon here also but I'm staying in the shade.

19 Jun, 2021

Not with the hair I got! Makes my head sweat it's so thick. Give it a try - shave your head! It feels nice and saves money on shampoo. We finally got showers today to cool things off.

20 Jun, 2021

I'm pleased it's cooler for you, it will be more comfortable. You'll be able to grow your hair back now :)
I have thick wavy hair too even at my age, and I look and feel better with it than without it ...
It's a warm night here, but we are forecast rain in a few days.

20 Jun, 2021

Yes it's so much cooler and comfortable after the rain. Maybe I'll let my hair grow in just a little.

20 Jun, 2021

I have thick wavy hair too but don’t fancy shaving it! It’s only wearing a hat that makes my head hot and sweaty … much prefer today’s cooler weather 🙂.

20 Jun, 2021

LoL Sheila. That's a sign of good health but there's nothing like a cold shower. I take lots of them.

20 Jun, 2021

Brrrr :D I've never had a cold shower, the coldest I've had is luke warm haha
I suppose a cold shower can be refreshing though, in hot weather ... :)

20 Jun, 2021

I find it very refreshing

I am late catching up with you Hywel! A few days off the computer as I had family here!
It must have been lovely just sitting in the sun with Bella and looking at the beautiful scenery.
