We inherited this viburnum and I really do not know which Viburnum this is. It could be Viburnum x bodnantense “Dawn” or Viburnum X burkwoodii. I just cannot pin point the difference. The only reason I am more incline to go with Viburnum x bodnantense “Dawn” is because it is widely available here.

This shrub blooms right now and blooms for a long period of time .

It has slightly scented and very delicate flowers. Where we live it is deciduous but the green leaves in the autumn turn maroon so it looks attractive before they fall and flowers open. They start on the pink side but fade to very pale shade.

Our inherited specimen seems to be very old , at least 18′×18′ in size and quite shruby with an untidy habit of growth. Most sites list matured size around 10′×8′. I have never pruned it but its probably time. I am sure it would benefit from little bit of cut.
It snakes along the rail on the deck and it’s visible through the dining room’s patio door.

Unfortunately, I do not see our hummingbirds at these flowers. Although, they like to sit on the branches.

Which ever Viburnum this is, its nice to have a flowering shrub visible from inside all winter long.

Isn't it beautiful so dainty! Just the lift you need at this time of year. Seems a pity to cut any of it off, but that's just emotion talking. If I were to guess I'd say after flowering.

It's a lovely shrub for winter with those pink flowers. We need to have something of interest to get us through this dreary time of year :) I used to have one but no longer.

Great snowman Hywel - it seems ages since you had time for art or pottery - hope you will be able to get back to it before too long.

It has a very pretty show of flowers, Klahanie! A bonus too if it has a lovely fragrance.
