Tidying up the North borders in my rear garden.

Part of this years plan is to move the north borders around. Last year it just didnt look right.

The idea is to put floral stuff in the west bed with the water feature and stuff like gooseberries, herbs blueberries etc in the east bed.

Why? simple realy from the bench and our dining table we can see the west bed, but not the east.

Also the lillies seem quite happy where they are.

So last week I moved the camillia, a small rose, a pink, the rosemary, the chives, the gooseberry and the knifophia.

Also moved the posts for my hanging baskets and the bird table.

Still to plant an alcemelia mollis – but I need the ground to thaw first.

Big question is will the camillia be happy? Will it ever flower? Is the advice re tea bags a sound one?

All to be answered later this year.

Good idea to be able to see the flowering plants from the dining table. We need something nice to look at.

I don't know what advice you've had about tea bags but I understand tea is rich in potasium, and that is what's needed by plants to make them flower.

It is always a good idea to consider which parts of your gardens you can see from indoors...your plans sound interesting.. I hope all goes well and the weather is kind :o)

I moved my Camelia to a north facing bed a few years ago,and it has been much better. You may not get many flowers till it becomes established, and gets over the shock of being moved.I don't have acid soil, which they like,so dug lots of ericaceous compost in,and gave it a mulch after it flowered..need to keep it well watered in the summer, when it is making the flower buds, for the following year.Tea bags good for garden, but I put them in compost bin
first...hope this helps...
