What Are They? OK, I'll Give You a Head Start...........

This is a cluster of eggs from an insect which I found attached to the underside of a leaf…….

I know the identity of what is going to hatch out of these eggs. Does anyone know too or would like to venture a guess? …..I’ll give you another hint, most of you will know what it is as soon as it emerges. Photos of “The Happening” will be placed in a subsequent blog.

What is the host plant?

Another hint Bath. The insect that deposited these eggs is not all interested in the plant or any plant...directly that is. To be specific to your question though; this plant was found growing amongst some Canna tubers that I had purchased and planted and I have no idea what this hitchhiker was.

OK, based on what you said and on what I know about butterflies, that they are very specific about host plants, I'm going to say: Ladybugs?
