Autumn At Last

By marion1

Sorry I have not been around lately, like everyone on here I have been thoroughly fed up this year with my garden but I did not want to write a despondent blog, so I kept quiet lol.

Well I can honestly say I am glad its Autumn, seeing all of the trees, shrubs and plants turning red and golden gives such a beautiful end to a dreadful summer!

I have been looking at my garden and analysing it so much this year and thinking to myself “why oh why am I forever changing it”. Everyone comments on how lovely it is but to me its looking a bit tired and I feel I need to rip it all out and start again!

Hubby is saying “NO WAY” but I say " I always get my way" lol.

So I have been thinking, retain the black fence and keep the cream walls retaining my borders as I really like that, keep all of my climbers and my fern tree, acers to be kept too and a few of the potted plants but get rid of everything else and start again….

I was thinking maybe going down the route of planting all exotic looking plants, or creating meadow type plants of different shapes and sizes all mingling together.

What do you all think?

I think if you want to do this give it a try or you will spend all next summer wishing you had! I am always changing mine as its never quite how I pictured it, this summer I replanted most of the front removing all the yellow flowers to their own bed in the back.
I think most gardeners would say its never quite right and change things, so go for it, although I think your garden is lovely as it is.

I agree with Drc - if you dont - you will spend next year wishing you had!!
I do love your garden but we are not the ones living or gardening in it.
I think you are lucky enough to live so far south that you can consider 'Tropical' - go for it girl!!!!!!!
