Latest painting of Welsh farm house .

This farmhouse is perched overlooking the river Wye in a peaceful area of mid Wales….It is outside the National Park but is under threat from Wind Turbine Factory development on a large scale.Where will we find peace and quiet if we allow this to go ahead.

I decided to alter my method and paint in more of a relaxed way,not drawing before….I’m quite pleased how it has turned out….

Beautiful watercolour, Julia. I think no matter how you paint or produce your artwork, it’s all been wonderful!
It is dreadful to hear of the large turbine factory development in such an area of beauty.
I live close to the Siemens turbine factory here, they produce the blades. We were here first, sadly, it went ahead. However, I guess I chose city life and I just keep thinking the jobs it created - good way of rationalising.

Thank you so much,Kate....pleased you like it. The garden is getting quite busy now,so it's a toss up which I will do..
.These areas are so special...but I can see how it will provide jobs in your area especially where they produce the blades....

You are so talented, Meadow, it's lovely.
Sorry about the turbines. They are all over the Scottish Borders and creeping. I guess we have to make up our minds what is most important to us. I feel the same about the relentless housing developments on greenfield sites.

It’s a lovely painting , I like the relaxed way you have done it. I think it give s us more freedom in our interpretation of the beautiful scenery.

Another very lovely painting with subtle, gentle colours. Are you starting another or is the garden calling out to you?!

Chris, now I'm in the flow,I feel I should carry on painting....I think time will have to be shared between the garden and the Art....I love doing both, but age is increasing!
Thank you so much Shirley and Linclass.

Julia I can't imagine how you could product this lovely picture without even drawing anything first- its beautiful. Did you do it from a photo, from memory or in the field?

Yorks,I painted it from a photo which was taken on a previous holiday.Quite difficult to do because all my previous paintings were drawn first.Thank you for your kind comment.

Lovely painting, M,land. I've no idea how noisy wind turbines are, a continuous hum would be awful & deserving of compensation.

Thank you Feverfew....this one was more relaxed.....they do look attractive, but the continuous humming would become an irritant very soon.

It's beautiful Julia! Sadly I didn't get back in to my painting as I have been changing the garden a bit!

That's a shame....I know how difficult it is to do both.
