New walkway/ cycle path opened up .

The walkway was the old railway which stretched from the docks to Tidenham. We hope it doesn’t become busy with heavy breathing runners. At the moment it feels very tranquil en route.I took some photos of the little areas of gorse which were braving the temperature. Even the moss in the hedges looked attractive. Some of the branches were showing beautiful grey green lichen.
Certainly a walk we will do again. The entire path eventually reaches the Diving Centre where coffees are normally on offer.Closed now sadly.

That looks like a restorative walk, Meadow. We are lucky to have such beautiful areas to walk in. Following on from your earlier pic, did you hear on the news that some councils are starting to 'spy' on litter dropped from cars? I hope they all begin to do it and make themselves some 'easy' money. It may change some mindsets if it hits the pocket, and can only be a bonus for the safety of wildlife.

looks very peaceful Meadow. I love greenways and as long as people don't abuse them they are havens for wildlife.

I do agree, it looks a lovely walk, Julia. I do love moss and lichen. All that naturalisation..
I’ll be hoping it doesn’t get overwhelmed with runners/joggers, so you can continue to enjoy a peaceful yet stimulating walk..and eventually enjoy a coffee or tea when the cafe reopens.

Greenways are great. Love the gorse - you don't usually see the wild sort with red on them! Guess you know what people say about gorse? (Kissing's out of season when the gorse is not in bloom...)

If its as bumpy and as natural as the ones are around here you won't get many runners/joggers using it, its not suitable for them, they don't want accidents, different if they introduce a cycle track, they are a nightmare for the walkers.. Is that part of the restoration work where they found a medieval tunnel, I saw something on the web, I'm sure it mentioned work going on across the Wye Valley..

Gosh I'd love to go and see it, I love anything connected to history and archaeology, although the article did say that this tunnel had been filled in again for now, waiting until the work has been completed across the Wye Valley and then the archaeologists will move in, apparently there is no record of this tunnel ever being discovered before...

Disused railway routes always seem to have a special atmosphere. Let's hope this pathway stays peaceful to be enjoyed by walkers. 😊
