Sunday morning walk.

The wind had ceased and the sun shone,so we decided to walk along the Greenway walk.
I have written about this before but then it was in the summer.
Today the terrain was so different…shrubs and trees almost devoid of their leaves…I was surprised to see,
dotted along the edge of the path Verbascums…Gorse with its brillant yellow flowers in the hedgerows. Oxeye daisies struggling to hold onto their flowers….and then there was Wild Clematis or Traveller’s joy covered in old man’s beard seeds.
Further into our walk,we reached the cute shepherd’s huts where the public can stay and enjoy deep diving.(Not for me !)
Small beech trees had been planted along the path edge, new since the summer.
Halfway reached and the sign
directed dogs towards their treats!
By now, time was alerting us to the nearest coffee venue so we aimed for Taurus
Crafts signified by a large wooden bull. This is the second one,the first having been burnt down by local youths.
The following photos show the inside of the cafe where local artists exhibit their work.A few years ago I tried to exhibit a few of mine, but I don’t think they were contemporary enough.
Hope you have enjoyed our walk…we wanted to wish you all a very relaxed and Happy Christmas. (Albeit a little premature)

Not long now. Had a Xmas craft stall today and sold a few things.

A lovely blog and photo's Julia, and I enjoyed the walk with you ,and lovely to meet you both :o) Cold water swimming is not something I would ever contemplate,as the Cafe is much more my style.:o) It all looks very well maintained, and interesting..thank you for sharing . Our two Grandsons have been decorating the tree this afternoon, after going an a 'Dachshund walk ' around a Country park this morning, with theirs, and lots of others,so they were lucky enough to drive home just before the snow arrived at lunchtime.:o(

Oh how lovely to "see" you both! You are so lucky to have these walks around you! You must have had much better weather than us as we had a thick frost yesterday morning and sprinklings of snow.
The cafe looks very inviting after your walk.

Thank you,Ang,Eileen,Sandra and Rose....We are a little addicted to finishing our days out with a coffeeIt's a matter of finding the warmest in this cold spell.
Eileen, I've learnt something new....no I didn't know you had to kiss when the gorse flowers are out...Will try that next time!!!

Fabulous walk, Julia! Lots of fresh air, scenery and interest too! Healthy exercise too - I feel a little more energised reading your blog and enjoying the photos too!
You are both looking well and obviously benefited from your outing.
Lovely to be able to relax with a coffee afterwards.
Ps. I noted the ‘dog ice cream’ advertised! Bet it’s a favourite for the dog walkers in summertime! 😊

Meadowland - I don't think kissing is actually compulsory - they used to tell me that it was "out of season when the gorse is out of bloom" - and as you can usually find one or two flowers even in the middle of winter there's no need to worry! It was nice to see photos of you and your OH. But even if there aren't any coffee is never out of season...

Stera,I'll take that advice on board!...Have to think of the passing walkers!!!
Coffee is certainly a regular here(on our walks) although we never drink it at home.

Looks like you had a very energetic wander, Meadow. It looks inviting. It's always good to see new trees being planted, too. A walk definitely benefits from a beverage and buns! Lovely to meet you both. The advent lights have started to go up in our neighbours' hedges. Reminds us not long to go to Christmas.
