Cordless mowers.

I’ve been researching cordless mowers with the intention of buying one for next Spring…the 2 lawns are on an incline with a few narrow steps dividing them..it has been quite precarious at times with the extention cable…so to be safe I would like to dispense with the cable.
I’m wondering if any of you have used one and perhaps could say how you have got on with it.Obviously the voltage of the battery and charge time would be important. Look forward to your feedback.

Hi Julia, we've a small patch as you know, but, we bought a cordless Bosch a couple of years ago. I love it! The battery lasts for ages, I'm pretty sure it'll hold for a while on your large spaces.

Thank you Stera and Kate....I'm wondering if the petrol mower is heavy?
When I wrote this blog Kate I was thinking of you because I know you have a small patch...I will look up the Bosch models...actually the 2 lawns here only take me 20 minutes which isn't long.

We had a petrol mower for a time at Willow Cottage but changed eventually to an electric one as I found it too heavy.

I do have a cordless strimmer but to be honest I prefer the electric one, I find the cordless too cumbersome for me, cannot comment on the mowers as we have too much grass, when I win the lottery I will treat myself to one of the robot ones, how cool would that be, one can always dream, lol....

Thanks Rose..I thought that would be the case....Lincs I'm surprised that the cordless strimmer was awkward to handle....it's good to have as much feedback when searching for garden equipment. Thank you.

I had a cordless strimmer too but it had strange plastic blades that kept falling off and getting lost. We have a petrol mower with a roller and yes it is rather heavy but it makes a beautiful job of mowing. If you have only a smallish area I'd go for a battery one. They are easier to start! Our neighbour has a mulching mower so you don't have to keep stopping to empty the grass box, which saves a lot of time. Do let us know what you decide and how you get on with it.

We use a petrol one, which deals with both problems.
