Mother's little helper..

This is a misnomer if there ever was one! last week my son Patrick (6’5") was busy taking the hangers off some containers, while i enjoyed myself taking pics of my new arrangement in the courtyard. Because of my failing eyesight, i can no longer use my scooter back there, but as long as i have something to hold onto, i can slowly totter around a few steps, and i have 3 chairs placed placed around should i need to rest..that happens quite often..i haven’t found a good way to take pics back there, it’s so small, it’s difficult to back far enough away, but i’m working on it..all the large containers are black..the sunlight gives a false impression that the one in the foreground is brown..

Thats really attractive - lovely to be able to sit and enjoy it.
You could give lessons on making the most of a small space!

Yes it's certainly a case of "much in little". Actually I often think smaller gardens can be more attractive than larger ones. Wonder if it's because more imaginative use has been made of the former.

As one grows older a large garden can be hard work!

Is he Mother's Little Helper because he is so tall? Or as in my case it takes longer to explain to my Son what I need, than to do it myself! I enjoyed the small garden feature they did on Gardeners World which just shows how stunning a small space can be and yours certainly shows that too.

thanks, Lisam, Steragram ,Eirlys, and Honeysuckle..your kind words are much appreciated..however, as i've been moving around in the courtyard, i've realized that my paths are too wide, and some of the beds, although they are all raised, are too low for me to safely hang onto, so it's back to the drawing board..i'll write another blog as soon as i come up with at least a partial or temporary solution..

Some lovely ideas here. Can I ask if you have any sort of call for help system when you are in the garden?

thanks SO much for your question, Drc726..i had planned on getting such a system, when my furnace developed a crack and had to be replaced immediately followed by other expensive and urgent demands on my budget, resulting in the help system being pushed to the back of my mind..i certainly will pursue this right away...thanks again...

Sometimes it takes a few ideas to get to the one that suits you best.
