Goldfinches on niger seed feeder - January 2010

Only got a niger seed feeder late last Autumn, and while I'd seen the odd Goldfinch, somehow the news spread and now flocks of them turn up! Frequently taking up all 4 feeder perches, with more of them waiting in turn on the apple tree!

I was getting 3 of these on my feeders but now only 2 ..... i hope nothing bad's happened to the 3rd.
Also ........ :-(((
One of them has lost the use of one leg :-(((
It's there, but twisted out at an angle and isn't functional .... SO distressing to see this bird using just one leg.
I'm thinking it's been caught-up in something and damaged it as it tried to pull away :-(((((
