OMG! #3

OMG! #3 (Neomarica gracilis)

I must be doing something right this year. A third bloom on my Neomarica gracilis. The first faded one is still clinging in place. Maybe I'll get even another!

It's just practice, you are getting more experienced.

It's great when they bloom like this. Mine did this just once, I had 5 flowers in a row compared to the usual one.

It is a thrill! I love it. I'm keeping the new plant attached from last years bloom. The last baby bloomed six months from the parent, so I'm thinking I might get two blooming seasons like this.

I have a very small plant that has the same flower but it's all yellow. I haven't seen a flower yet.

A yellow, how wonderful! My first flower came after growing on for four years. I saw the yellow blooms on one Marguerite had in her garden when she lived in QLD. Its wonderful. They have a folk name twelve tribe because it was thought that they bloomed on the thirteenth leaf after making the fan of twelve. Mine doesn't always do that but it does need a well developed fan. Interesting that my original didn't bloom for years after division, but its babies bloom 1 1/2 year later.
