Thunbergia mysorensis - Clock Vine (Thunbergia mysorensis - Clock Vine)

This Clock Vine is growing on a large pergola structure out by the Indian crocodiles at the San Diego Zoo. This vine grows quickly and blooms all year. It's a very commonly grown vine in California.

Meanie:

It's a beautiful vine...however, Thunbergia species have a tendency of taking over a large area very quickly though. : > )

Meanie:

I have Thunbergia 'Blushing Susan' growing up a dead Pyrocantha...and seedlings are popping up all over my front yard and in potted plants. It's even growing in the sidewalk cracks. I may have to cut it down and take all the roots out.

There is one growing at Kew in Princess of Wales Conservatory, it's a lovely plant and very popular with the public.

Rbtkew:

I bet it is, especially where it's not commonly grown outside. It's a very popular vine here. However, they are such aggressive growers, which can take over a large area very quickly.
