It faces west and gets all the wind in the winter and is baking in the summer, so everything at the front of the house has to be quite hardy.

That is wonderful I love these bought one this week then realised I had already got the same one lol Susan its name nice to know they weather well handy to know.

Which variety is this HB,? I have just bought Stellata again, have lost it twice, so third time lucky, and no I have not got a clue where to put it lol

Sorry I miss named this, its a Magnolia liliiflora called Susan. I have tried to edit it but cannot seem to do it..
The one I have in the sheltered yard is the Magnolia soulangeana.
