Milky:

I don't think it's hit the stunning faze yet. I like when more flowers open and it has the yellow, white, red and orange hues.

Meanie:

Plumeria trees need a lot of heat and sun to bloom well.

Gorgeous flower Delonix. I don't see any buds on mine yet.

Alexandramou:

Be patient...your plumerias are not even a year old yet. Remember: seedlings can take from 2 - 5 years to bloom for the first time.

18 May, 2012

They are a year and a month Delonix. ;o)))
Patient....blah....
Can they bloom at any time?
Our weather has gone cool.....very strange for this time of the year. Blah.

I know, be patient! lol! :>)

Plumerias typically bloom in subtropical climates from as early as late April - Dec. The heaviest blooming occurs in the summer months. Here in San Diego the best bloom time is from: June - Nov. (Nov. is the sunniest month statically in San Diego and can be quite hot due to the Santa Ana Winds).

Oh.....there is still hope then. ;o)

21 May, 2012

Yes, there's still hope. I've seen plumeria trees bloom from April - January here in San Diego.

22 May, 2012

Oh goodie...

22 May, 2012

Hope they bloom for you this year! :>)

22 May, 2012

Me too Andy, they are really loving it outside....

23 May, 2012

Yes, they love the the hot full sun.

24 May, 2012

Andy, my Bird of Paradise looks terrible since I've put it in the garden!!! It's been in the ground since March....it looks worse now....

24 May, 2012

Alexandramou:

Did you plant it out from a shady to a very sunny position?

25 May, 2012

No, I had it in a pot for a while in semi shade then gave it full sun still in the pot and then in the garden. Oh well, I will just have to wait and see.....I really hope it doesn't die on me....I've had it seven years from seed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

25 May, 2012

Alexandramou:

That's very strange! They usually tolerate the sun and heat very well. Is it getting enough water? When first planted in the ground, it needs more water.

26 May, 2012

That's what I thought too.....
I did water it a lot when first planted, now every other day.
Checked on it today again,,,,,it's still alive.
