Lonicera 'Henryi'

Lonicera 'Henryi' (Lonicera henryi)

An evergreen honeysuckle...the bees love it, but sadly, it has no scent.

What a pretty colour, though.

They are quite pretty when you look at them up close...but not showy like other honeysuckles. I shall keep it for the bees, and for the evergreen foliage.:)

They are very valuable to the wildlife, and generally do well. I have an old Halliana - not very spectacular, and sometimes gets a bit mildewed, or suffers from what I call "early Autumn", but the bees love it.

I used to have one of those and it was amazing...the scent...incredible! I lost it in winter 2010.

Mine is down the garden, just at the entrance to the wild patch, so I don't really get the benefit of the scent except when I'm down there. I just love the scent of honeysuckle, especially in the evening.

What a great pity, still, if 'the golden ones' love it that has to be good!
