peacock butterfly

I adore these,Lindak..and recently posted a similar photo,only mine was on gravel..it's been such a great year for them all..:o)

Hi Bloomer it is so nice to have the butterflies around, last year I hardly saw any. The Peacock butterflies have been here for a few weeks now. The mauve perennial wallflowers have been favourite for the butterflies.

It is such a clear image and the plant in the background is perfect to show it off. A very handsome butterfly indeed!

I sometimes take an awful photo with my little camera Wildrose and it's all blurry, but this one came out good.

Jane, it was just resting on the foliage in the sunshine. Butterflies suck out the nectar from the flowers.

Thanks Michaella, If only you could see me when I take these sort of photos as I've only got a small digital camera and I have to follow the insects about before getting a decent picture. I wonder if the neighbours watch and have a laugh.......

Yes Terra, Having a break at the moment as the light isn't right for painting. Too dull. Did complete a poetry leaflet that made £60 for the Guide Dogs that I sent off to them just over a week ago.
