Cotoneaster x suecicus Juliette

Cotoneaster x suecicus Juliette

Wasn't happy growing in a pot - much happier now it's in the ground!

We did exactly the same with a cotoneaster that we had in a pot and ours too is much happier in the ground. I asked on here about moving it and was advised to go ahead as they don't mind an upheaval!
Unfortunately, ours is not a very attractive one and I am not sure it was worth the effort!

A shame you don't think it very attractive Chris. I'm sure the birds will though. This has pretty variegated leaves.
I do have another growing in the ground but it's nothing worth writing home about but planted it as part of a hedge so for the wildlife really.

Glad to read your's is going better now Hywel too. I don't know about yours but mine's was sold as a patio plant and ideal for a pot!!

Mine wasn't sold as a pot plant. I just put it in one so that I could move it around when I felt like a change. I have also moved it several times since planting it in the ground. It doesn't seem to mind.

I get fed up with the same things in the same place all the time ... so I tend to move everything around (except large things that I can't shift)
I do the same with the furniture in the house lol nothing is in the same place for long ...

That's called C. Horizontalis Snoop. There is also a ground covering called C. Dammeri. This one didn't flower this year, stress from being in the pot I suspect.

Checked my label Snoop C. dammeri gives mature height at 50cm, so just under the 2ft and will spread up to 2m but easily kept in control with a wee snip.
If you go to google and do an image search - you will get a better idea of how they look when mature.
