Thanks Jane...Yes...somewhat. it was larger in my mind's eye! lol...still more digging to do but hope to have it enlarged before the big freeze. The area at the left of the pic which shows a bit of an indentation is where I plan to plant my rescued yellow iris.

Thanks Jane! I bought five yellow water iris last spring and put them in the stream and the very next day we had a flood and all but two of the water iris were washed away, never to be seen again! That's why there will be a little alcove out of the main stream to put them in...fingers crossed for next spring.

I have a very large pond.No liner, just a clay bottom.I love it.Yours looks really natural already.Good luck with your yellow flag iris.

Jane: I'm hoping that they have lodged somewhere along the stream bank and next spring they will simply start to grow where ever they are!
Thanks Suey...will have to wait for spring. It is a really different and interesting way to garden, isn't it? I have a few water plants that I will mark on a little sketch map for next spring when I will relocate them in the pond. Already have crayfish, minnows and frogs!
