A good friend gave us two runner bean plants a few months ago. We decided we could train them upwards, using the gazebo frame as stakes. Now we have fresh beans, every second day.

We are pleased with the results Meadowland, I have also put tomatoes in pots nearby as well .... as you say, we don't have to travel miles for fresh veg. ....lol

Great idea Alan, and it's been a good year for veg too! :) my greenhouse was too late for most things, but my mixed salad planters are showing germination already, so I may have fresh leaves right into the winter. :)

I love your Gazebo and a great idea too to grow the runner beans up the frame. Pretty flowers as well as producing lovely beans.

Thanks Karen and Homebird .... It's nice having fresh veg and herbs at arms length.

Thats quite a coincidence Alan as our next door neighbours gave us two runner bean plants, but Im sorry to say that the dreaded slugs have eaten the lot;0(

That's a shame Carole, we have 6 or 7 meals out of them. Very near the end though now. I will probably pick the last of them tomorrow.
