I bought it recently for a fiver at the GC. It will spend the winter in the greenhouse.

That's great going DD! Do you get proper olives? ONce, when we were in Cyprus, we saw the waiters collecting the olives from their trees and that prompted me to pick and taste one...really really bad idea!!

I have always wondered....if you tasted a raw olive .....say three thousand or so years ago...and it tasted that disgusting....what on earth would make you think to try brining it for a few weeks and then discover it was good? I mean....who was the first person to do that and why!! Lol!

When you think about, I guess they were so hungry, and the olives so plentiful, they probably worked hard to find a way to make them edible.
