Adonis amurensis - 2015

By Andrewr

Adonis amurensis - 2015 (Adonis amurensis)

Small woodlander for moist, humus rich, acid soil in shade. Eventually getting to a foot across and similar height, this may not flower in its first year after planting, but should then settle down to an annual display in late winter/early spring.

This is a sight to behold on such a grey morning ... reminds me of a Hypericum flower. :o)

Shirley - this has struggled a bit this year as the weather turned very cold when it tried to open its first flowers. An occupational hazard with the early bloomers I'm afraid.

It's certainly braved the elements!

I rather like this and have the perfect conditions for such a plant...
