Morning Bishop

Morning Bishop

This Dahlia, Bishop of York, is glowing in the border this morning.(although, the photo doesn't do it justice)
It was still in a pot (that it was transported from our old house in) until 2 or 3 weeks ago and it really wasn't doing much but, since putting it in the ground, it's really thrived.

They do romp away once planted out...mine too. I love the dark leaved vars.

I am envious of this, Paul, as most of my potted Dahlias have succumbed to bugs. Earwigs, Slugs, Snails etc., shall probably have to bin the plants :o(

Oh dear..I noticed this aftyernoon, one that I planted towards the back of the garden has been eaten but, fingers crossed as I say this, I havent had too bad a problem with snails/slugs at this garden. There, I've gone and said it now....next year will be sanil and slug city!!!!
i WONDER IF ITS BECAUSE THERE WERE NO PLANTS IN THIS GARDEN SUITABLE FOR THEM TO EAT UNTIL I ARRIVED THIS YEAR.
WHOOPS, Paul's hit the capitals lock button!

Paul, I threw some slug pellets around the pots on the patio, something I rarely use, and there were three revolting fat, orange-bellied slugs this morning. Yuk!!!
