Alstroemeria 'Indian Summer' in my garden today.

Alstroemeria 'Indian Summer' in my garden today.

Great colour for October. The Golden Border looking bright. Roses are now falling foul of the rain and blackspot though and most are needing cut back. But still loads to enjoy in the borders.

Goes on and on and on Linda! A fabulous plant, especially if you're colour crazy like us! :) The lawn scarify job finished yesterday. Scott helped with the last part and now we are both absolutely cream crackered! It looks terrible, but I know it will recover in time, and the parts that we did really well last year are so much better than a year ago, so it pays off in the end. Lawns eh? So much work!

that's so pretty, love it, will have to have some more of this for my border, going to take out some of the lysimachia, which has tried very hard to outgrow everything in the big border and plant some other things in there, keep fingers crossed for a good spring for me.

Yes, we'll all be hoping for a good spring, and early too!

The Alstroemerias have just gone on and on, (and Penstemons) Such garden worthy plants, and beautiful.

That's a beauty Karen

I always think they are expensive to buy in a pot, but if they end up doing as well as yours, they are well worth the initial cost.

What a beautiful healthy plant and so many stems of flowers.

I bought this in Inverness, the week we left Rachel in Sutherland. Two years ago now, just before we found the cottage!

That is a huge plant, ours have never looked that good....ever!!

It does so much better than any of my others except 'yellow friendship' which is also doing very well.

Lucky you.....ours either grow like weeds or hardly at all!!

I tie this one gently to a support, which gives it this nice shape. Otherwise it would flop over badly.

Karen, after admiring yours last year, I bought one today. ?. So, did yours come through winter OK, how's it doing now. I planted mine today and seems so fragile although a large plant. I've supported it, just hope it doesn't get eaten alive by slugs and snails ?

Thanks Karen for picking the message up. That's reassuring, had to have one after seeing yours when I came across one. This one has no flowers yet, looking forward to the vibrancy.
