A lovely photo Linda , I think I've been to Belper is there a railway line with a road going through the arches ?

Yes Amy that's the one. There is a large red brick mill on the A6 as you go out of Belper towards Ambergate. The River Gardens is situated behind the mill with the river Derwent running through.

Thanks Lindak it was a very long time ago I think we were going to Leek there was a story of an old man who lived in a cave I can't remember much about it was he claiming to be king of the area ? We didn't see the River gardens I wish we had :o)

I'm sure Timmyh if you typed Peregrines in Belper or Belper mill Peregrines the web would come up with some photos. They have a following of photographers there.
Amy, I think it was Strutt who first got the River Gardens going and the Victorians developed it. We have a bit on our website if you want to have a look.

Thanks Timmyh, I only have an old digital camera, but it doesn't take a bad picture. We get quite a few different species of wildfowl on the river, and in the warmer months Peregrines nest on the Mill and it's lovely to see them.
