That's a large bronze loquat! They usually stay pretty small...not like the fruiting loquat which can grow much taller.

The Bronze can get much larger- yet I wouldn't call it a large tree even still.
By the Hayward PD and some little park as a street tree, are some of the nicest of all. I really got to remember to get over there by that park.
I see them,I think of 1950's Hayward. When exotic tree's were planted. Now? Same-o plants. Gingo,Oak.
Union City with Nelson Kirk has gotten very creative. Wine and Mountain palms as street palms. Love that.

I always think of Eriobotrya deflexa as a smaller tree.

That's great someone is being adventurous and planting more palms in the SF Bay Area. I noticed that the last time I was San Francisco Bay Area which was last June.

Alvarado has the mentioned palms and Nelson planted Brahea edulis, armata's. Brachychiton flame tree and a long row of Jacaranda's. Plus at the end where it meets Hesperian, a min palm park. I think he snuck some rare(for here) palms in between the Queens.
Its also down the street from the Library with the big palm park.
He got so much going,I havent seen it all. I know he told me there is a larger Dragon Tree in Union City I want to check out.

That's terrific! Union City has a really good mild climate, also. I've seen some really nice, large plantings of King palms in that area. I know they got a little damage in the '98 freeze. It was very minimal, though. I'm sure those trees must be very tall by now (if they're still there).
