Two new mossy rocks at the pond side.

Two new mossy rocks at the pond side.

I've been very busy clearing out around the greenhouse today for a new project, and found these two big rocks which I thought would look good beside the pond. Pleased with the result :)

good idea, saw two pairs of frogs this morning in the water, my pond is not clear as the water hens and pidgeon use it to splash around in. This year the plants have been late to start to grow, just temperature too low but it should start to grow soon.

Just very early signs of growth in my pond, but its early yet.

Looking good - and you must be very strong if you moved those yourself?!

What a good find, Karen! Reading through the comments above, perhaps somebody could explain why, not only is there is frogspawn in our pond, but there is a clump of it on the brick wall surrounding the pond! Surely the latter clump will die? Our frogs must be really stupid .....

It maybe should be A!

Dotty, we have at least 8 frogs in our little pond, really cannot understand why that frogspawn is on the brickwork.

shirley, perhaps an animal or a bird has pulled the spawn out of the pond? Cat perhaps?

It may be that something has tried to eat/ take away the frogspawn and it's gotten dropped and just stuck there? The one clump we had has been eaten by the fish this year

Karen and Dan ... I have seen our cat by the side of the pond, not sure if she would actually hook any out though. I had a look at it earlier today, tried to move it with a plastic trowel and it was horribly sticky in a stretchy, chewing gum kind of way, yuk!

That's what I meant when I said some critter had been at it......was disturbed whilst in the middle of moving it!! Lots of animals eat it apparently!!

Yuck! i have a sack barrow, which I use to move heavy things.

Dotty, I didn't know that, you learn something new everyday!
