This plant was moved to this sheltered spot last season..I has come along very well even planted closely with geranium and hosta.

You must not have any deer on your neck of the woods Lori. All these are their favourite here. Maybe not geraniums but I have never grown geraniums. I buy few pelargoniums every year and they prefer the "other" plants in the pot but still will taste leaf or too. Every year they try new plants. I still have little bit of Chelone.

LOL! It's funny you should say that, Klahanie. We have deer that visit the stream every night...and they browse the apple trees...but have yet to bother my hostas which I have planted far and wide! They love the lettuce-like leaves of the evening primrose and trim the old wood from the hydrangeas, and only venture close to the house in the very cold part of the winter to browse the cedars.
I can't seem to do justice to pelargoniums..but I have the lovely perennial geraniums which like to snuggle up to the foundation of the house for warmth in winter. The chelone was here when we came but looked like it was struggling because it was planted in the wrong place... moved it and now it's doing fine.
