Hardy or not?

It is supposed to be Angela. I find it hard to believe though. But as its in a planter on a south facing wall...worth a try.

Hi Karen, P lavender lady, {syn P amethyst} is frost tender, needs a minimum temp 41f, sorry, Derek.

This from Climbing Plants Direct website

Description: 'Lavender Lady' has such remarkable violet-purple blooms it appears to be transluscent or nearly glow-in-the-dark. 'Lavender Lady' was further hybridized by the American plant breeder Patrick Worley, and introduced in 1982. It was back-crossed Passiflora amethystina to the ultra-hardy Passiflora caerulea rendering 'Lavender Lady' the passion vine of choice for the more northerly gardens.

They reckon it is hardy to -8C

Hi Karen, P caerulea is only frost hardy, but would probably survive a ''normal'' winter, I lost mine in the bad winter we had a few years ago, {minus 22c}, if you want a reliably hardy 1, there's P incarnata, bit this only grows to about 6ft, Derek.

Minus 8.....I would have thought you could get away with that, we could unless we had a freak winter, we lost Constance Elliott though. ..time will tell, I am going to look at Dericks suggestion, 6ft would meet my requirements..
