There's most likely hundreds of varieties of pineapple. They all look a little different and the fruit taste very different, also. I have a 'Super Sweet' variety.

Yes, Maui Gold and Super Sweet are my favorites. It's hardly available for sale here anymore, though.

You ll have to get them seeds and grow your own Andy.

They very, very rarely grow pineapple from seed. They always grow them from suckers or the tops of the fruit.

I have two Super Sweet pineapple plants, they both are off-shoots from the original pineapple I purchased 5 years ago.

I'd love to grow my pineapple in the ground; however, the bugs will eat the roots in two seconds flat! lol! I'm not sure why the bugs love pineapple roots so much. I have seen people grow them successfully around here, though. I need to find the secret to growing it in the ground. :>))

That s great growing from seed yes I thought you could grow them from chopping the tops off and growing from the tops

Defiently do what I do just knock some ones door whch grows them in the ground and ask shame the bugs eat your roots.

Yes, the best way to plant a pineapple is by the tops. This is how they grow them in Hawaii. I believe they use the pineapple for canning and cut the tops off and replant with them.

Yes, I must talk to someone and see if they are using some kind of natural pesticide.

Yes, baking soda and vinegar. They're great natural pesticide plus fertilizers.
