Fabulous,Shirley..mine never get plumes like yours, and have had them for years..I wonder why?

This one has been divided two, possibly three times Sandra. I read this info:

Divide your grass every 3 years or as growth begins to slow. Dig the plant out carefully in Spring and cut the crown into sections. Replant the healthiest chunks with good root growth. These will renew and produce superior plants.

If yours is anywhere as big and tough as mine, you may need a saw to divide it!

Already done that Shirley..got three from the one,but it seems like I need to split them again..I think it's been more than three years !..One has been in a large pot for a while, and the other two are in a border..I must say,I do like to see the foliage, which fills big gaps ,so I might have to make a sacrifice come spring ! thanks.:o)

I don't cut ours down until the Spring as I saw Ladybirds overwintering in them one year. Good luck with yours :o)

I was very surprised to see a Red Admiral butterfly resting on a stem of the Zebra grass yesterday ... seems so late in the year for it to be around.
