Ah..thanks Shirley. Been outside all day today. Got heuchera corner weeded and removed all the debris etc. Then in the afternoon we started removing the back garden decking. We’ve nearly got it all away. We were going to have it replaced sith very expensive plastic decking, but then we had a problem with a drain underneath, so we decided to just get rid and make a gravel are. I’m actually happier with a gravel area than a decking. Its a big job, but we can manage it ourselves, and will cost a fraction of the new decking.:) should have it all away by the end of the weekend.

Steady on Karen, Rome wasn't built in a day, as the saying goes! Am I right in thinking your decked area is where you look out across to the fields? Your bird table is there too?

Dotty, I think I asked how yours was faring last year.

Thats right Shirley. Bird table is in the border. We will lose the elevated seating position, but we can still see over the hedge. Its amazing how much bigger the space looks. ?

I can imagine ... will you have lots of pots on the gravel or plant through it?

19 Feb, 2018

A few plants through the gravel to soften the effect is all Shirley. :)

I look forward to seeing it planted up ... :o)
