Oh dear, will the snow protect it from cold winds or do a lot of damage to it?

Here, the snow is an insulator, Shirley. I should post a pic of last season's flower heads sticking out of the 3 ft. deep snow! We're still in the grips of winter.

Well, I guess snow does have some good qualities! Today, here on the South coast, the wind is whipping up the waves in the English Channel, exhilarating walk earlier today!

that sounds very invigorating, Shirley. Is March a stormy month for your area?

It certainly is at the moment Lori, the BBC news are showing photos of rivers overflowing onto roads in the North of England and parts of Scotland have snow falling.
I spent an hour in the garden this afternoon but gave up due to the windy weather. March can be a very changeable month for weather, so one day at a time is the way forward!

my sorbaria is outdoors under 2 ft of snow, at present. The foliage is so pretty it lights up a dark corner.
