Crinodendron hookerianum flower buds

Crinodendron hookerianum flower buds

Well, I managed to get it through the winter, although its as cold outside today as it was in February! But hopefully now it will acclimatise to the south-facing wall and start growing once the flowers are over. This is my second attempt at Crinodendron.

I've killed mine, I'm sure, by moving it. It grew so rapidly, and I'd planted it too close to the garage foundations. I saw one with the trunk the size of an Oak (I exaggerate a little) and got scared of its placement!

This is such a beautiful plant. I'm sorry to hear you lost yours Siris. I bought mine from Suntrap and was dubious of it surviving in my garden. It does not like too much wind. It was growing near a eucalyptus tree that I had to have reduced and thereby took some shelter away from the Crinodendron. It seems to be surviving though. It is on an east facing wall to give it shelter. I hope you are successful Karen but maybe you should take cuttings just in case.
