Sunflower 'Claret'

Sunflower 'Claret' (Helianthus annuus (Sunflower))

I much prefer these shorter varieties to the gigantic yellow ones.

I have a Sunflower blooming on the balcony my son gave me about 3 months ago as a seedling in a pot. I also have 2 others that were self-sown, (probably dropped by birds), that I didn't pull up. I have no idea what they will be like till they flower. I also pulled out 4-5other seedlings as they had no room to grow where they germinated. The surviving 2,fortunately for them, germinated in pots where I could let them grow.
