A Fabulous brilliant red ....

Thank you both! Just this evening I went to close the blinds when I noticed that the two flowers have blackened & shrunk petals! :( Obviously the extremely strong sun was the guilty party! (As well as being my fault for leaving it in the window!) The white one with red veining on the balcony is still fine but then it didn't have to put up with at least 6 hours of strong sunlight through double glazed windows!

Awe what a shame a learned lesson for you for the future.

Yes, you are right, 3D! I'm not accustomed to leaving them in the windows so I forgot all about it! Just this morning I took it outside & put it on the balcony where it will stay till the first frost comes along.

I hope your balcony gets shade.

Very little shade after 11am & until the sun goes down! As we are having a few cloudy days it won't hurt the plant to be outside.

I was watching Monty Don on Gardener's World yesterday & he mentioned about cutting them hard back when they have finished flowering & then you will get more flowers in September.
