Attractive, elegant and fashionably late. (Actaea simplex)

Actaea simplex previously Cimicifuga simplex.
Common name here is black snakeroot .

It's living in the pot (for many years) and I just moved it under the roof. It is a striking plant and and one of the favourite,

I love this my neighbour has one in a pot I tried growing a plant from their seed but didn't have any luck ...

Me too. I have a couple but they're not particularly thriving in my border.

Very pretty flowers. They remind me of sparklers.

Sorry to hear that you did not have luck with its seeds Amy. Perhaps you could try again?

Anget, we all have plants like that. I see some robust plants you girls have but mine are not doing so well.

Linda, the flowers are welcomed at this time of the year but it also have very attractive dark foliage during the summer.

Really, Bathgate? Time for hot chocolate.
I was just thinking how warm you had it all summer. I suspect it will not last on the ground very long , will it? We are having a pleasant fall day but it will cool down soon. Time for cleaning up the mess all our trees are leaving us with.

Yes, we've been under the wrath of storm Zeta for the last couple days dumping torrents of rain with that ominous howling sound I can't stand. Sounds like derisive laughter. Just for kicks it decided to snow dump on us, ugghh! Yes, need lots of hot chocolate. I hope this isn't a precursor of what to expect this winter. I just seeded a new lawn, hope it's not ruined. lol life goes on! Good times!

Looks quite magical - the lighting seems just right doesn't it?

That's beautiful Klahanie, loving the contrasting colours. The tail end of your storm Zeta heading our way for Sunday Bathgate after another, storm Aiden, hits us today.

Keep warm and safe Bathgate and Thorneyside. It will pass.

Thank you for your comments.

The lighting was good for the camera Yorkslass, I tried to make picture against the forest earlier but it did not work so well. Tiny flowers did not stand out against the muddled background of various trees.

Thank you. This storm is a cold one with snow sleet and torrential rain for days. Hot Chocolate for sure-and hot apple pie for good measure.

I just baked two apple pies this afternoon Bathgate. I love the smell of baked apples with brown sugar in the kitchen.

I looked at the forecast for next week and the cold arctic front is heading down upon us and I think all Midwest US will be in deepfreeze. My apple pies might come useful very soon.

Like the aubergine plummy coloured stalks and stems, it really highlights the pretty little white flowers. New one to me.
