This fern is sold everywhere but only around Christmas time . Same as Poinsettia. I could not save it from last Christmas. Seems to be very fussy and needs to have just right conditions to survive,

I am glad that I am not alone, Hywel. That makes me feel little better. They are pretty and I will see if I can keep this little longer in the bathroom . Apparently they need quite a bit of humidity.
My poinsettia from last year survived. It is healthy and much larger but I'll still have to see if it will turn red.

Good luck with the Poinsettia, I hope it turns red for you.

I have no heart to stick it in the closet Hywel, so it is in room with North facing window which we do not go to very often. It is the darkest time of the year so I hope it will be good enough. If not I will still like it green.

My brother always gets his Poinsettia to turn red by placing a black bag over it at the same time every day. The bracts don't get very big but they do turn red. He hasn't said if he's done it this year though.
