A semi double purple Hellebore from seed under a Mahonia. The Mahonia has leathery purplish evergreen foliage.

Mahonia aquifolium , together with salal(Gaulthoria shallon) is a substantial understory in our forest . And yes, it blooms right now and in fall it has these lovely blue berries with some medicinal properties. Here it grows in full shade.
Blooms are quite pretty. I will post a picture of ours.

Siris, the region called Pacific North West often referred to as PNW region in literature includes coastal areas of Oregon, and Washington in US and Vancouver Island in Canada (part of coastal mainland if British Columbia as well.) because we have the same climate. That is where the enormous giant sequoias ( redwoods) grow.
